"Summit meeting" in the delightful Allgäu region
The pre-Alpine landscape is a top location for conferences and meetings
The term "summit meeting" can be taken quite literally in this wonderful pre-Alpines scenery. The Allgäu region can be enjoyed to the full, whether hiking or mountain climbing, playing golf with a view of the Alps or attending meetings and conferences. Corporate summit meetings can be held here with a particularly attractive supporting programme. The region also has exquisite locations for private parties, such as weddings or anniversaries.
Top-level meetings
As recently announced by Bayern Tourismus Marketing GmbH, Bavaria remains top of the German conferences market with a share of 17%. The state is driven by top-notch experiences, sevice providers and services, and Allgäu plays a key role. 
Located in southern Bavaria, on the Austrian border, the Allgäu with its Alpine charm, excellent climate and unique remedies boasts the ideal conditions for conferences and meetings as well as associated spa breaks or short sport trips.
The stimulating pre-Alpine climate has been home to what we now refer to as "well-being" and "spas" for 150 years. According to the Tourist Association of Allgäu/Bavarian Swabia e.V., "This was where Sebastian Kneipp, a Catholic priest, developed his world-famous health teachings known as the 'Kneipp-treatment'. The original Oberstaufen Schrothkur treatment has been guaranteeing well-being for over 55 years."
Enchanting Neuschwanstein Castle
The Allgäu is one of Germany's most popular regions all year round, not only because of its status as a health destination*. but also due to its nature und cultural landscape, which attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year thanks to the region's extraordinary diversity. Alpine sport*, mountain bike tours and many hiking routes appeal to sports fans, while world-famous sights await lovers for art and culture. Many companies therefore choose the Allgäu for their Incentives or teambuilding initiatives.
The area by Füssen, with its royal castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein can attract millions of visitors each year. Neuschwanstein Castle is naturally the most famous of Ludwig II's castles and one of the best-known sights in Germany. So for weddings, a group visit to one of the royal castles can be a delightful way to wrap up a celebratory weeken with family and friends.

The number of overnight stays in the Allgäu is constantly on the rise. In 2011, the number of arrivals grew by 5.1%. The number of overnight stays also grew by 5.4% in comparsion with the previous year (Source: Tourist Association of Allgäu/Bavarian Swabia e.V.).
*Health destination: health tourism is playing an ever important role in marketing holiday or event destinations. Many regions therefore place great emphasis on their local advantages, such clinics, health hotels or medicinal services, and market their region as a health destination.
*Alpine sport: whether hiking, trekking or mountain climbing in the summer, or skiing and snowboarding in the winter, the Alps are very attractive all year round. The Alpine or pre-Alpine regions are also ideal for group trips or Incentives, as they are great for organising an extremely versatile programme.
